Five Arrested for Their Roles in Prescription Drug Ring

Four Northern California men and one Northern California woman were arrested by law enforcement authorities this morning for their roles in a prescription drug ring operating in the Susanville area. Jim Adams, 48, Tricia Adams, 39, Markey Walker, 29, and Jerry Goodman, 41, all of Susanville, California, and Jacob Lahr, 25, of Doyle, California, were arrested without incident. The arrests were the culmination of a lengthy investigation by the Lassen County Narcotics Task Force, the FBI, the ATF and the Sierra Army Depot.

Investigators and police officers from the Sierra Army Depot initially brought this matter to the attention of federal authorities after determining that a drug ring was being operated by a few employees at the base. Of those arrested, Lahr, Walker and Tricia Adams are current employees at the Sierra Army Depot and Jim Adams is a former employee.

The investigation has revealed that Jim and Tricia Adams are at the center of an illegal prescription drug ring operated out of the local area. On numerous occasions law enforcement authorities coordinated the undercover purchase of illegal prescription drugs directly from Jim Adams. Investigators have determined that Jim Adams’ wife, Tricia Adams, is the main supplier of the prescription drugs.

Both Jim and Tricia Adams have been charged federally with the illegal sale of Schedule II prescription narcotics consisting primarily of Oxycontin, Percocet and Hydrocodone. Goodman, Lahr and Walker were all arrested on state charges. In addition to the arrests, law enforcement authorities also conducted seven search warrants at locations associated with the individuals who were arrested.

The service of the seven search warrants and five arrest warrants were conducted by approximately 75 law enforcement officers. Participating agencies included the FBI, Agents of the Lassen County Narcotics Task Force, members of the Lassen Interagency SWAT Team, Deputies from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, Officers from the Susanville Police Department, Officers from the California Highway Patrol, and Deputies from the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office, and the Lassen County District Attorney’s Office.
