Violent Crimes Task Force Seeks Information Regarding Sacramento Bank Robbery

The FBI and Sacramento County Sheriff Deputies are trying to identify a man who robbed the First Bank at 865 Howe Avenue earlier this morning.

After entering the bank at about 10:20 a.m. the man approached one of the tellers and presented a demand note. He then placed a black leather money pouch on the counter and said "now".

The man was wearing a tan straw hat with black cloth around the rim of the hat, a black t-shirt, black pants, black sunglasses and a black lightweight jacket. He was also wearing a black bandana underneath the straw hat.

The teller put the money in the black leather pouch and the robber fled. No weapons were seen and no description of a get-a-way vehicle was available.

The suspect is described as an African American male in his mid 40's with shoulder length black hair that is braided. He is 6' tall and weighs approximately 300 pounds.

Anyone with information regarding this robbery is asked to contact the FBI in Sacramento at (916) 481-9110, the Sacramento Sheriff's Department at (916) 874-5115, or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00.
